John Willard Raught Celebrated at the Everhart Museum
The Largest Raught Collection on Display
Northeast Pennsylvania native John Willard Raught was one of the region’s most important painters, showcasing the beauty of the landscapes surrounding the Wyoming Valley and surrounding areas. In celebration of Scranton’s sesquicentennial birthday celebration, the Everhart Museum will be featuring one of the largest collection of Raught’s works to date.
“Some Enchanted Land: The Paintings of John Willard Raught” will be on display from April 22 through December 31, in Galleries 12 and 13 at the museum. Take a stroll through the iconic lands around Lake Carey, Campbell’s Ledge, Moosic Lake, the Susquehanna River, and more, as seen through Raught’s eyes.
